This Should Work

Around this time of year I reactivate a christmas mix for my iPod that is filled with songs that remind me of chrstmas from many different places in my life. Some from TV shows (like the muppet Christmas special with John Denver), others that I heard on my favorite radio station from my youth, and some I played while working at a radio station in North Carolina.

There are only three rules for Christmas music in the TSW household

1. No Trans-Siberian Orchestra
2. No Manhiem Steamroller
3. No Clay Aiken

Everything else is fair game. Elvis- you’re in. Marian Carey- hey, it’s Christmas. Brittney Spears- see Mariah. I’m pretty much game for any Christmas songs, but these are probably my top 5 favorite (non tradtional) Christmas songs:

5. Little Saint Nick-The Beach Boys (Lily likes this one too)

4. Little drummer boy- Bing Crosby/David Bowie ( a classic)

3. Christmas Wrapping- The Waitresses (reminds me of the 80’s and my wife loves it)

2. Last Christmas-Wham! (yes, it is one of my favorite Christmas songs, and if you were honest with yourself, it would be near the top of your list as well)

1. It’s Christmas (Baby, please come home)-U2 (possibly my favorite U2 song, no joke)
